It’s been an unseasonably warm spring here and when it gets hot, I don’t always want to turn on the oven or range. Smoked salmon makes a great ingredient for making no bake/cook dishes. I can buy smoked salmon for less than $20 a pound so it’s not super duper expensive either. Here are some quick instructions on how to prepare smoked salmon for sandwiches, salads and sushi.
1) Take the smoked salmon out of the package and peel off the skin on the bottom. It should come off fairly easily (you shouldn’t need a knife).
2) Tear the smoked salmon into bite size pieces by hand.
3) Watch out for bones! Smoked salmon in this form still has a few bones in it. While you’re tearing the salmon into pieces, remove the bones.
Now you’re ready to use your smoked salmon for salad, sandwiches and sushi. Enjoy!
