Preparing for Dinner (a Dog’s Perspective)

“Click clack, click clack.” Mommy is in the kitchen. Is she making dinner? Is it good to eat? Maybe she’s only washing dishes. I don’t smell anything. I’m leaving.

“Click clack, click clack.” She must be making dinner now. She’s been in the kitchen too long. I can smell something but it’s not meat.

“Whump.” Time to sit on the kitchen rug and find out. Mommy looks at me. I wag my tail but she just smiles at and continues what she’s doing. Hmmm. I’ll sit on the other rug outside the kitchen and wait to see what happens.

“Whoa! I smell meat! I gotta go back in there!”

“Click clack, click clack. Whump. Swish, swish, swish.”
